Our core philosophy is that your data belongs to you. We have engineered this application to operate without the need for a central database. We do not create user profiles, we do not track your location, and we do not sell your information to third parties.
Nomad Receipts uses on-device local storage and ephemeral AI processing. All receipt data, including merchant names, dates, and amounts extracted by our AI, is stored exclusively in your device's local browser storage (IndexedDB/LocalStorage). We do not maintain any remote databases, and no user data is ever retained by our servers after the initial processing is complete.
When you scan a receipt, the image is transmitted via an encrypted HTTPS connection to the Google Gemini API for the sole purpose of optical character recognition (OCR) and data extraction. This process is ephemeral; the image is processed in RAM and is not stored or used for training by us. Once the data is returned to your device, the connection is severed.
Our application may contain links to third-party services or recommended hardware (such as accounting software or scanners). These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We encourage you to review their terms as we have no responsibility or liability for their content or activities.
